Julia Wirts, CFA
Investment Strategist
As an investment strategist with Wilmington Trust Investment Advisors, part of the M&T Bank family, Julia helps drive efforts through thought leadership and thematic investment research. She also helps oversee our rebalancing and implementation process to ensure that it is aligned with the broader platform. Additionally, Julia is charged with maintaining M&T internal control standards and participates in all investment committees and forums to review and develop communication plans for sales management.
Prior to joining the firm, Julia was most recently a portfolio manager with Fiduciary Trust International, where she worked with high-net-worth clients to build out asset allocations and integrated portfolios in an open architecture setting. She was also responsible for performing fundamental research for the firm’s equity strategies, with a focus on U.S.-based utilities and renewable energy companies, and worked with the sustainable investing team to source new managers across asset classes and conduct thematic research. Earlier in her career, Julia was an ultra-high-net-worth investment advisor for Hawthorn, PNC Family Wealth, where she also played a large role in developing thought leadership content for the investment strategy group, and was a portfolio analyst for Philadelphia International Advisors (PIA), an investment firm that managed international equity mandates for institutional investors.
Julia is a CFA® charterholder. She received her master’s degree in public administration from the University of Pennsylvania and her bachelor’s degree in political philosophy from Trinity College in Hartford, CT. Julia serves as a member of the Investment Committee for the Acorn Club of Philadelphia, where she oversees the nonprofit’s endowment, and is active with the Morris Animal Refuge.
